Since the second generation 2017 Ford Raptor debuted in the autumn, the automotive press hasn’t been able to get enough. In one of their most thorough (and daring) videos yet, Motor Trend enlisted Ken Block to give us a look at just what this new off-road pickup is capable of. The answer is quite a lot.
We won’t spoil the fun in the video above, but we will tell you what co-reviewer Jonny Lieberman noted. Before Ken Block joins the fray, he tried out the Raptor on the dunes, highlighting what set it apart from the outgoing model. He found it could hit 60 mph in 5.2 seconds (wow), the quarter mile in 13.9 seconds, and brake on sand in 140 ft. Lieberman also sheds light on the benefits of the new ten-speed transmission, and how its gear ratios are tuned for performance. Capped off by an insanely awesome entrance by Block, its more than worth the watch.
