You’ve likely heard of the acronym, STEM, right? It stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math—four areas in which women still lag behind men in the marketplace. In fact, statistics show that the number of women in these areas is actually declining.
Programs have sprouted up all around the country to provide education and familiarity with these subjects, and to encourage girls and young women to pursue a career in one of these fields.
Ford is partnering with one such program in Palo Alto, California, called, “Girls Who Code.” Here, team members of the auto manufacturer mentor and instruct girls and young women in the technology field.
